About Greg Ziesemer

Greg Ziesemer, Antique Furniture Conservator
Greg Ziesemer is an antique furniture conservator with over 35 years of experience in the conservation/restoration trade, and owner of Antiquity Furniture Restoration, Inc. His experience includes the preservation of fine antiques for private collectors and dealers, as well as countless family heirlooms. He treats each piece with an acute awareness and respect for its creator’s vision and intent, and adheres to its original construction techniques and materials, so that as much of the piece’s integrity and value is preserved as possible. Greg has also had the honor and privilege of performing conservation for the collections of many museums and historic sites throughout Indiana via the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, thus having a direct hand in preserving his home state’s heritage.
A corner cupboard made in Indiana by Abraham Lincoln’s father, Thomas, is among his most prized conservation experiences, and is part of the collection of the Indiana State Museum.
His credentials include:
  • The Indiana State Museum
  • The Lanier Mansion, Madison, IN
  • Francis Costigan House, Madison, IN
  • Levi Coffin Historic Site, Fountaintown, IN
  • T.C. Steele Historic Site, Nashville, IN

For Greg, preserving antique furniture is much more than merely a craft, trade, or occupation. It encompasses a true appreciation for the artifacts of times long past and, through them, the people who created and lovingly used these items over generations. He views his purpose as the critical link to these treasures’ survival for the generations to come.
